Thai Beef Cabbage Wraps

Thai Beef Cabbage Wraps

It makes sense that when you are cooking on a budget you want to shop for ingredients that are…well, cheap!  One of the least expensive vegetables you can buy at the store is cabbage.   I’ve never been a huge fan myself.  For some reason I’ve never found a coleslaw that I liked or really fell in love with cabbage rolls.  As a result I hardly ever buy cabbage because what good is cooking on a budget if you don’t like the food you are making?  Well, I decided to have one last go at my dreaded foe, the cabbage.  Either I have taken cooking on a budget to a whole new delusional level or this recipe really rocks!

So have no fear if you fear cooking with cabbage!  One, you are gonna love this recipe for thai beef cabbage wraps and two, you don’t actually cook the cabbage.  If after trying this recipe you still aren’t a cabbage fan (rah, rah, rah, GO CABBAGE!) you can trade to the other, less sturdy, culinary team of iceberg lettuce.

  1. Yummy!! These look great! Your pictures sure are appetizing!

  2. This definitely will go on my short list of things to try! These look great!

  3. These look awesome! I’m making them tonight for dinner. One question – do they stand alone or what would you make with them? 🙂

    • Thank you! I hope you like them! They do stand alone but we really like rice so often I will make some rice to serve on the side or add to the wraps. Enjoy!

  4. This is dinner tonight, I’ll be sure to let you know how they come out 😉

  5. How necessary is the serrano to the thai marinade? Have you subbed in other peppers?

    • I haven’t substituted any other pepper but I’m sure a jalapeno would work fine. Any pepper that adds a bit of heat should work.

  6. I made these for dinner last night and they were wonderful! I added a little more lime juice at the end once they were on the plate, yummy! Thank you for the great recipe!!!
