Patriotic Pudding Pops

I’m a bit sad to admit this but I had no idea what Labor Day was all about until I started writing this post.

Eeeeeek.  I think I probably would have failed the test to become a citizen.  Good thing I was born here.

All I really knew was that Labor Day was a national holiday that encouraged barbecues, retail sales galore, and I got to sleep in.  Sleeping in is now a dream as my four strapping boys will, undoubtedly, wake up at 6am despite the fact that their father kept them up until nearly 10pm playing the Wii.

Good times.

At least I still have the barbecues and retail sales galore.  Both of which we will be partaking of tomorrow.

I will also be explaining, in between shopping and eating, that the reason we get to enjoy this extra day of rest is to honor all those American workers who make this country a wonderful place to live.

And, although this holiday isn’t the first to come to my mind when I’m thinking patriotic, it is a rather patriotic holiday to celebrate average American workers.  Just like me and you.  So go celebrate.  Make some of these insanely easy and delicious pudding pops.

  1. Oooooh my bf would love these!!!! Poor thing has to work today, though 🙁

  2. Ummm, I kinda thought it was just a day to not work. 😉

  3. What a yummy use for vanilla pudding! I’m a fan of pudding pops from way back, and these look wonderful. Hope you and your family had a great holiday!

  4. Funny, but I never really BBQ on Labor Day, or Memorial Day, or even July 4th.

I was born here, but being raised in an Asian household means we don’t normally celebrate any Western holidays. But ask me about Chinese holidays and I can tell you all about them!

  5. What a fun recipe for Labor Day! I’ll bet my kids who absolutely love these.

  6. The new look is gorgeous Krista! WOW! You did it all by yourself? Congratulations!

These pudding popsicle look like lots of fun to eat!
