Whole Wheat Snickerdoodles

I am going to take a break from 30 Minute Meals today for the simple fact that I am totally in the mood for cookies.

It’s cloudy today, chance for rain, and there is a good chance we will have snow this week in Utah {even at our house}.  No chance it will stay on the ground but it definitely is starting to feel holiday-ish around here.

The other reason I’m all about cookies right now is that I just got back from a weekend in San Francisco exploring the sites, eating fabulous food, and meeting up with fellow food bloggers at the Daily Buzz Food Conference.  Dinner right now just seems like a chore.  You know what I mean right!?  Cookies are fun.  Whimsical.  They are a treat.

Dinner is so, well, um, necessary.  How fun is that!?  Dinner has purpose while cookies have no other purpose other than to satisfy a craving and make your house smell amazing.

Sold yet?  Of course you are.  And you are really going love these Whole Wheat Snickerdoodles for the simple fact that they are whole wheat and I like these more than my traditional snickerdoodle recipe.  Really!  Plus, it’s just a fun cookie to say.

Today, as I snicker while eating my doodles, I’ll be downloading a bazillion pictures from my camera, washing a gajillion loads of laundry, oh, and trying to figure out what my kids are wearing for Halloween and how I can possibly fit their snow suits underneath.  Good times.

  1. Can’t wait to read all about your trip and I’m loving these cookies!

    • Oh my goodness Kristen! The trip was so fun and luckily Shawn and I didn’t get in to too much trouble. A few hiccups here and there but nothing like the EVO phone incident! Whew.

  2. One of my favorite cookies, and I love that they’re whole wheat!

  3. I could use a dozen of these right now. I am working all day on laundry today too. Plus trying to figure out the whole Halloween Costume thing too. Where’s my Diet Dr. Pepper?!? HAHA

  4. Snickerdoodles are one of my favorite cookies…I’ve never tried a whole wheat version!

  5. I love snickerdoodles, these are so pretty!

  6. Those are so pretty, Krista! I love how they have that light pattern on top. Was that from a cookie press?

  8. It was definitely so hard to get back in the groove after the trip this weekend. I came home at 1AM yesterday and I couldn’t even make it through work! I’ll just have to make these cookies though and eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s wheat in them so it’s healthy and nutritious, right? 🙂

  9. What a great idea!! I love snickerdoodles & so do my girls. It was absolutely wonderful to meet you this weekend!! I wish everyone could meet you in person so they’d know how fab you really are. xoxoxo

  10. I am totally digging that this a whole wheat version of some of my favorite cookies! I’m going to try these with some of my new favorite flour (whole wheat pastry flour). I’m glad you had such a good time in SF!

  11. these cookies look absolutely beautiful! i love that they’re whole wheat too 🙂
