A Letter to my Better Half

They say behind every good man is a good woman.  Today I’d like to turn that table around and say behind every good woman is a good man.

the family

My man is a good man.  He is strong and caring and mostly patient with his nutty wife {moi} who, in the last two years, has taken on a few more hats and projects that neither of us initially planned on.  Marriage is like that.  You go in thinking, “I know this is going to be work but how much work…really?  I can’t stand to be apart from him for even a second.”

We both had those wide eyed, naive, and crazy-in-love beliefs when we were married 10 years ago today.  It was a magical day.  And it’s been a magical 10 years.  So magical, in fact, that I only really remember like 3 years of it.  Is that old age or a testament to how fabulous how marriage has been that it only seems like 3?

It really has only felt like 3 and, were it not for the four children we have together I may believe that.  He is the reason I get up every morning.  Well, that and my four year old is usually begging for a drink by 7 am.  He is my knight in shining armor, my dragon slayer, and bringer home of bacon.  That last part is my fave…everything is better with bacon.  And he agrees which makes him darn near perfect.

He may not be front and center when it comes to BGM but he is a driving force in our family and his love and support mean everything to me.  I would not be the woman I am today without him beside me, sometimes carrying me, along this crazy road we call life.  I love you baby.
