Nonsense and Such

Over the past few weeks I’ve discovered a few things about myself.

One.  I love to escape into Tim Burton’s magical worlds in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland.  I could watch those movies 24/7 and never tire of them.  It’s not an assumption I’ve tested but it comes with a 78.239% guarantee.

Two.  Baking can be therapeutic.  Especially when it’s for someone else.  When it’s cheesecake than it is that much more effective.

Three.  I really needed a break from blogging.  Over the past two years I have thrown myself into BGM.  I did not start this blog with the hope it would be successful.  I had a “dream big or go home” mentality.  With that, what little experience I had, and nothing but a crazy desire to connect with people through food I took a leap.

Much to my surprise and delight I’ve had opportunities I’d never thought possible, met people I now call best friends, and have reconnected with an inner desire to create, teach, and share.  That side of blogging is fantabulous!  I could do it all day long.  It’s the business side {emailing, scheduling, deadlines, promotions, etc} that can take a lot of energy out of you {believe me when I say I’m even grateful for that “burden”}.

When we sold our house unexpectedly my immediate focus turned from trying to balance schedules and keep up with the business side of things to packing, cleaning, organizing, planning, house hunting, scheduling, banking, blah, blah, blah.

{ahem} Watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory right now.  True Story.  Best feel good movie ever.

I’m happy to report that the packing is paused, cleaning is, well, never really done, and the house hunting {dare I say} is OVER!  We found the most perfect house this past weekend.  I loved it as soon as I walked in and I practically jumped through the roof when I saw those two special words…”under contract”.

The next few weeks will consist of lots of waiting, repacking, moving again, and settling into the new home.  I’m praying that everything will continue to go smoothly and life can finally get back to the normal crazy it once was instead of the super cray cray it’s been.

In the meantime, I’m chillin’ with my in-laws and making full use of my mother-in-law’s awesome kitchen.  My days, however, consist of house hopping, McDonald’s free wifi, and making the most of the last few weeks of school that my kids have while I commute back to Spanish Fork each day.  Can I just say how amazeballs my friends are!?!  Seriously.  If they are home and their kids don’t have strep {thanks for not sharing} they’ve let me hang out.  Good thing too.  Gas station bathrooms are not my favorite thing and neither is dragging two children in with me.

So, basically this is me saying thanks for sticking around.  Recipes will be reappearing on BGM asap and life around here will be returning to normal soon.

XO Krista
