After he has barked a few times, place a treat on his nose, he will stop barking, then give him the treat. This way he will be treated for not barking. Keep repeating until he gets it right.

As soon your dog can comfortably bark on command, teach him the “quiet” power. Pick a  calm environment that has no distractions and then  command him to “speak.” As he begins barking, command “quiet” and put a treat in front of his nose. Pat him for being quiet and a good boy and give him the treat.

Keep your dog tired

Keep your dog up and busy, the more exhausted he gets tired he gets. The more he stops barking too much, depending on the type of dog you have, put him through various activities throughout the day so that he doesn’t get enough time to bark and annoy you. Take him for walks or let him play outside in the park with toys, the choice is yours.
