Banana Nut Waffles

I am a breakfast kinda gal.

Breakfast for lunch.  Breakfast for dinner.  Breakfast for…well, breakfast.  Waffles can do no wrong so they are my natural choice for our Saturday morning pick me up and after this week I’m gonna need a pick me up.

One, if not all, of my kids have been sick at one point or another this entire week.

Translation: I have not showered in at least 2 days.  Even being around myself right now is difficult.

I haven’t been to the grocery store since last week.  Not even kidding.  My freakin awesome neighbor went to the store for me.  She brought back ice cream.  Myyyyyyy hero.

I have only slept a couple hours each night in between children waking with fevers, thirsty, wet jammies, nightmares.  I. Am. Tired.

Hence, my attempt at kicking my Diet Coke habit is, let’s just say, on hold.  Indefinitely.

Ironically enough I went to a meeting on Tuesday sponsored by Vicks where I was able to learn more about the flu.  We received one of their new behind the ear thermometers, among other things, and little did I know I would be using it.

All.  Week.

Five Hundred times a day.  By the way, I love it.

I also learned that the flu virus has a harder time surviving in 40-60% humidity.  Our home now feels as if we lived in Florida.  My skin has never felt better.  And I am not sick.

Whether I keep the humidifiers going all year to ward of the dreaded flu {not likely} or not this Saturday is all about breakfast.  This breakfast.  Waffles.

Disclosure: I did receive Vicks products to try at home but was not paid to review them.  It just so happened that we had the opportunity to use them right away.

  1. Mmmmmmm. WAFFLES. I love waffles. I love them even more with bananas and nuts! I’ll be down for breakfast in the morning. Sigh. I wish. There should always be waffles.

  2. Hi Krista! I just stumbled across your blog for the very first time and had to introduce myself. We have something pretty big in common! I have 4 boys as well…this means we MUST be friends 🙂 I mean, that is a pretty unique situation isn’t it? These waffles would be very well received in my house. Looking forward to taking a look around at your other recipes. Nice to meet you 🙂

  3. Your pictures are wonderful! And I just discovered your blog – it’s great! I’m a teen, and it’s great to read blogs from other age groups.

  4. I’m totally a breakfast gal too! There’s just something so great about having pancakes or waffles at 8 o’clock at night.

These waffles look great, btw. It’s a nice spin on traditional waffles 🙂
