Sweet and Spicy Pork Stir-Fry

There is always a first for everything, right!?

Last week I had a couple firsts.  Some fun.  Some not so fun.

Fun.  I was on television.

Not so fun, racing around until literally right before the show to find a sweater that would work with my new shirt which I had to buy because the shirt I was going to wear had a hole in it.  A gaping hole.

Fun and at the same time not so fun, I had my eyebrows waxed.  For the very. first. time.  Ouch.  And yet, so pretty.

I was pampered last week.  Mr was home and he cleaned.  He. CLEANED.  And not just “eh, he washed a few dishes” kinda clean.  Full on maid service.  He mopped, did laundry, did dishes.

Am I not the luckiest woman on the PLANET!?

And he did all this while I prepared for my on screen debut which I was slightly short of freaking out about.

Now, fast forward to this week.  Another first, again, not so fun.  I missed my new menu post for Monday.  It’s been forever since I didn’t post on a Monday.  All I can say is back to reality.

We started the week off with a real bang by little buddy {the 3 yr old} having some tummy issues and since this is a blog about food I will leave it at that.  You can use your imagination but I suggest you don’t.  Needless to say, crazy is in full swing again at our house.  Which is why I didn’t have my Monday dinner posted.  I did cook it last night though.

Remember that thing about crazy being in full swing again?  Of course you do.  I just barely said it.  Well, this is the perfect dinner for straight-up crazy, can’t take no’mo, gonna scream if one more thing goes wrong today kinda days.  If you have a rice cooker it makes it that much easier.  {side note: mr just got me one for Christmas and I don’t know what I did without it.  Get one.  So worth it.}

Let’s hope crazy dies down a little but for now I am grateful for stir-fry.  And crock pots.  And rice cookers.  The end.

  1. I am usually not a fan of pork chops but I absolutely adore these flavors and we eat stir fry’s a lot. I am on board with this one!

    • Thanks Cassie! Of course, you could always substitute chicken…which I am a big fan of. So nice to finally get this posted! Now on to the next one.

  2. I’m someone whose husband thinks carrying the dishes to the kitchen counter is “doing the dishes” so I’m very jealous indeed of the mister doing all the chores. Do you rent him out?

Congratulations on the TV gig and sorry about the little one’s tummy upset. Probably good that you took care of all that mess and didn’t post. 🙂

Your sweet and spicy pork stir-fry warms my tastebuds a lot!

  3. I just have to say that you did fab on Studio 5. You were a natural!!

  4. I have to tell you that I understand the freaking out thing. I was just recently involved in a video shoot which is far less freak-out inducing than a live tv appearance, but still pretty nerve wracking!

The stir fry looks great. I love a quick, tasty meal like this for a crazy, busy day. Love the sauce, sweet and spicy – yum! Pinning 🙂

  5. I’m loving all the flavors in this! Bookmarking this for dinner next week! 🙂

  6. I made this recipe for dinner last night and it was a huge hit! My husband who is a veggie lover loved it. I even got my very picky almost 3 year old to gobble it up + he had it for lunch the next day! This recipe is definitely going into my rotation 🙂

    • That’s great Brandi! Any recipe that makes everyone happy is always a keeper in my book too! I can’t believe how hard it is to please everyone sometimes. I’m so glad you liked it!
