Apple Cinnamon Chex Mix

Fall is, quite honestly, my favorite season of the year.  It’s so warm and inviting.  And there is a sense of anticipation as the holidays get closer.

Of course the germs that come with the colder weather are not at all my favorite.  With four boys cold and flu season is usually a war zone.  Last year I experienced what will be known forever more as “Armegeddon-puked-on” and so far this year I’m on my second cold in that many months.

I could go for some ridiculously easy after school snacks and perhaps a hot bowl of chicken soup.

Luckily I’ve got the after school snacks covered.  The chicken soup, well, any takers!?

The kids {and I} totally went for these Apple Cinnamon Chex and I have a wonderful neighbor to thank for it.  In fact I have quite a few extremely talented neighbors who collaborated in putting together a cookbook with their favorite recipes.  Which is where I found this recipe and knew I just had to make it.

Sweet. Salty. Crunchy.

No brainer.

  1. I love this mix. Flu season? I hate. I’m just waiting for the first germs to hit here…

    • Thanks Dorothy! I am so over cold and flu season already. I just saw a funny commercial last night where a guy was barricading himself inside his house by nailing boards to the doorway…seriously considering it!

  2. Ohhhh, I am LOVING this!!! I would have never thought to add the dried apples

  3. What a delicious fall spin on chex mix! This wouldn’t last long in my house! 🙂

  4. Thanks for linking back to my White Chocolate Buttery Waffles Snack. Your mix sounds great & healthier than most b/c it’s not drowning in white choc, PB, corn syrup, etc. Need to remember this!
